According to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s caustic soda production (100% equivalent) in March 2026 reached 4.131 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%; from January to March 2026, China’s caustic soda production (100% equivalent) totaled 12.002 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%.

Upstream, China’s crude salt production in March was 4.328 million tons, a decrease of 1.1% year-on-year; from January to March, China’s crude salt production was 12.005 million tons, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year.

Downstream, China’s alumina production in March was 7.611 million tons, an increase of 1.8% year-on-year; from January to March, China’s alumina production was 22.997 million tons, an increase of 1.7% year-on-year. In March, China’s production of manufactured paper and paperboard (excluding processing of purchased base paper) was 15.437 million tons, up 5.8% year-on-year; from January to March, production was 40.188 million tons, up 5.1% year-on-year. In March, China’s fabric production reached 2.64 billion meters, up 1.5% year-on-year; from January to March, China’s fabric production totaled 6.99 billion meters, up 4.6% year-on-year. In March, China’s synthetic detergent production reached 1.139 million tons, up 8.8% year-on-year; from January to March, China’s synthetic detergent production totaled 2.973 million tons, up 8.0% year-on-year.
